Responsible to ROV Supervisor, Remote Technology Specialist, Submersible Technician
The ROV Pilot Technician has the primary responsibility for the piloting of the ROV, maintenance and repair of the ROV system, implementation and monitoring of technical procedures and reporting, work management and execution of ROV operational tasks.
These key responsibilities are structured as follows:
- ROV piloting during operational activities.
- Assist in the Launch and Recovery of the ROV System.
- Carrying out the dive in accordance with recognised operating procedures, work scope and client specific requirements in order to achieve designated work safely and efficiently.
- Undertake navigation and observers duties and operating of manipulators and ancillary equipment fitted to the ROV.
- To be satisfied that prior to any dive the submersible that all pre dive checks have been completed.
- Check with the submersible engineer on the status of the vehicle buoyancy, special fits or any limitations to the system.
- Carry out the dive in accordance with client's work scope and Subsea 7 operating procedures to client and supervisors' satisfaction.
- Understands the sub-surface environment that the ROV operates in and any contingency procedures in place for the ROV.
- On completion of the dive to immediately inform the ROV Supervisor / Senior Site
- Representative and Submersible Technician of any faults or deficiencies encountered during the period of the dive.
- To ensure that the dive log is completed in full for the dive completed.
- Undertake maintenance and repair of the ROV System under the supervision of the Submersible Technician.
- Build a portfolio of evidence for the companies
Applicants with experience in the above roles and who are in possession of a Group L or H Electricians Certificate or a Ships Electrician Certificate are particularly encouraged to submit an application.
2-4 rota available for qualified personnel.
