Beskrivelse
Hei
SOLGT !!! SOLGT !!! SOLGTR !!!

Make: E. Remington & Sons
Model: No. 3 Smoot’s Patent Revolver
Serial Number: NSN
Year of Manufacture: 1875-1888
Caliber: .38 Rimfire
Action Type: Single Action Revolver with Side Loading 5-Round Cylinder
Markings: The top of the barrel rib is marked “E. Remington & Sons Ilion, N.Y. PAT W.S. SMOOT Oct. 21.1873”.
Barrel Length: The ribbed octagon barrel is 3 ¾” in length.
Sights / Optics: The front sight is a thin rounded blade fixed to the top of the barrel. The rear sight is a “V” groove in the top rear edge of the frame.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The grips on the birds head grip frame are checkered hard rubber. There is a compression mark at the top of the left grip. The
checkering on the grips shows moderate wear with the checkering worn smooth on the ridges below the grip screw. The left grip has a mar in the checkering at the top of
the grip and shows heavy wear at the top of the grip. There is also a mar above the grip screw. The grips rate in about Very Good to Fine overall condition.
Type of Finish: Nickel Plated
Finish Originality: All Original
Bore Condition: The bore is dark, the rifling shows slight wear and there is very light erosion in the grooves.
Manufacturer: Remington
NRA Grade:
Good
Overall Condition: This handgun retains about 15% of its metal finish. All metal parts of the revolver show some degree of pinprick surface erosion and surface loss, with
a dark brown patina formed over the areas where the nickel finish was lost. The barrel shows numerous compression marks, with it and the cylinder pin housing show spots
of pitting. The frame shows compression marks on its sides below the cylinder window with pitting on the left side at the trigger, the backstrap and on the hammer. The
cylinder shows a few small compression and handling marks, and only a partial drag line. The screw heads are relatively sharp except for the grip frame screw at the bottom
of the frame, which is badly disfigured and may not be serviceable. The front of the grip frame is broken at the screw. The markings are faint in spots but legible. Overall,
this handgun rates in about Good condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. However, either the star or the pawl is worn to the point the cylinder doesn’t turn all the way unless the hammer is pulled back
very sharply. When the cylinder does lock up, it shows a small amount of play.
