We bring the Garmin Mini on almost every trip we go. It increases safety margins significantly, as emergency responders can be reached 24/7 even if no cell phone coverage. Additionally, it is very nice for people at home to get updates on trip-progress. Personally, we mostly use the FREE messages which include a location (see example in pictures), in addition to the every-so-often weather updates (PAID). Note: the FREE messages need to be defined before your trip and they will be send to the contacts of choice - also selected before your trip.

• Messages AT COST: other text messages – both send and receive - cost kr10 per message. You can type any text you want.
