Om designeren:
Civil engineer Herbert Krenchel was born in Copenhagen, Denmark 1922.
In 1953, Herbert Krenchel designed the enamel bowl: Krenit-bowl. The name Krenit is a combination of the name Krenchel and eternit (a fibre cement which is used for the coating on the bowls outside). The bowl has a distinct design with its matt black outside, thin edge and clear colored enamel inside. In 1954, the bowl won a signe d’or for its unique design at the Triennale (Milano, Italy). From 1954 until 1966 there were produced over 1 million bowls.
