Beskrivelse av varen
Tilstand: Pent brukt - I god stand
After George Lucas finished work on Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith, he wanted to look back on the Star Wars saga with an entirely new point of view: isolating stills, or frames, from each of the six Star Wars films, focusing on them intensely as works of photography and design, and reproducing them in a book. For two years Lucas went through more than 150,000 frames per film, editing more than 1 million frames down to the 1,416 images that now comprise Star Wars: Frames, a testament to the hard work, craftsmanship, and dedication evident in every frame of every film. Star Wars: Frames brings together Lucas’s personal shot-by-shot selections into a lavishly designed two-volume hardcover set—one volume for the Original Trilogy and one volume for the Prequel Trilogy. For collectors and fans, Star Wars: Frames is the ultimate look on this grand project devoted to a cinematic phenomenon—and the ultimate Star Wars collector’s tome.
Please note: All the images in Star Wars: Frames are presented as they are seen on screen, with none of the alterations that usually take place when an image is released for publication (digital enhancements, airbrushing, and so on). They will therefore have, occassionally, motion-blur or other anomalies inherent in a 1/24th-of-a-second extraction. Each double-page spread of frames is intended to be viewed from left to right top, then left to right bottom.

Review
"Cinematography is not about technology. It's about art, it's about taste. In the end it's about understanding your craft."
- GEORGE LUCAS
""FRAMES" is about allowing the reader the time and the space to examine fully that ("cinematography") craft."

From the Inside Flap
The set contains:
- A vellum dedication page bound into volume one signed and numbered by George Lucas.
- Six leather-bound volumes (11 inches x 22 inches wide) one for each episode in the "Star Wars" saga, contained in two chambers that correspond to the first and second "Star Wars" trilogies. Each chamber rests on air gliders that extend from the case when light pressure is applied.
- More than 230 film frames per volume correspond to each epic "Star Wars" film: "The Phantom Menace," "Attack of the Clones," "Revenge of the Sith," "A New Hope," "The Empire Strikes Back," and "Return of the Jedi," totaling 1,416 images. Lucas selected each image from over a million possible film frames in the original reels.
- Two specially crafted embossed medallions (6 3/4" round) that represent the poles of the Force in the Star Wars saga: Jedi Master Yoda and Dark Lord of the Sith Darth Vader.
- A handmade Arts & Crafts maple-wood case (24" long x 13" high x 15" wide) holds both book chambers
This landmark collection of images represents a unique opportunity for collectors and cinephiles to obtain a superbly crafted artifact of the "Star Wars" epics--offering the closest thing to having the actual film reels from "Star Wars." Representative of Lucas' personal reflection on each film, "FRAMES" is an inimitable memoir of his magnum opus.
