Luksusutgave av The Godfather-trilogien!

I anledning 50-årsjubileet i 2022 for den første filmen får hele serien en ansiktsløfting.

Bildene er remastret etter alle kunstens regler, med både HDR-10 og Dolby Vision som High Dynamic Range-bildeformater.

Lyden er en nyere 5.1-miks fra 2007, samt at den originale monolyden på de to første filmen er restaurert. Paramount og Coppolas produksjonsselskap American Zoetrope brukte tre år på å restaurere alle tre filmene.

Forrige restaurering skjedde i 2007, i forbindelse med overgangen fra DVD til Blu-ray (Full HD.)

Hver eneste filmrute ble denne gang gjennomgått på nytt.

I alt ble det brukt 4.000 arbeidstimer på å reparere filmnegativene og 1.000 timer på fargekorrigeringer. Over 300 esker med filmruller ble gjennomgått.

Ny versjon av den tredje Gudfaren-filmen

Francis Ford Coppola har fått blod på tann etter å ha omredigert The Cotton Club. Nå er det The Godfather: Part III (1990) som har fått ny behandling.

Paramount Pictures meldte 3. september 2020 at de før jul 2020 lanserer på kino – og siden som videoplater og strømming – en ny versjon av den tredje filmen i den legendariske mafiatrilogien.

Nå skal filmen hete Mario Puzo’s The Godfather, Coda: The Death of Michael Corleone.

Dette var Puzos originale tittel, som filmselskapet avslo for 30 år siden.
