ABB is looking for a Mechanical Team Leader for our Coast Guard & Navy business line. As a Mechanical Team leader, you will become part of a small, multidisciplinary team dedicated to working with some of the most demanding customers in the marine industry. We develop electrical propulsion, power, and automation systems to meet strict electrical and mechanical requirements. This includes the design of modular enclosures, mounting solutions, and liquid/air-cooled systems. Office location Fornebu or Ulsteinvik.
Your main responsibilities
- Leading a diverse team of Mechanical engineers and coordinating resources for R&D activities, assigning tasks, monitoring workloads and schedules with project teams.
- Participate and support on solution design, simulations and associated documentation for manufacturing, assembly, and maintenance.
- Evaluate concepts and challenge existing technical solutions.
- Support projects execution in the field of mechanical design.
- Provide technical support to our production team, project teams and sales department.
- Ensuring a safe work environment and compliance with design and quality standards
- Recommending, developing, and improving processes and procedures on product design.

We believe that you are/have
- BSc/MSc with emphasis on product development or mechanical design.
- Strong knowledge in Mechanical design, CAD, PLM, structural dynamics and FEA/CFD.
- Creative with good problem-solving abilities as analytical and critical thinking abilities.
- Solution-focused approach and good communication skills
- Collaborative and service minded, both internally and towards customers.
- Experienced in leading teams or project management.
- Fluent in spoken and written English.
