Maritime Robotics is growing rapidly, and we're excited to expand our talented team of 75 dedicated professionals. As a leader in the uncrewed surface vessel industry, we're seeking a passionate Software Engineer to join us on our journey of innovation and excellence.
We are looking for a skilled SW engineer eager to work with cutting-edge technology for unmanned surface vessels. The applicant will join our control systems software team, focusing on the control system of our uncrewed vessels. This role involves working on autonomy, particularly in areas like guidance, navigation and control. The responsibility will be tailored to match the candidate’s expertise. You will also have the opportunity to cooperate closely with our software teams for situational awareness and user interface.
About the Role:
As an Autonomy Software Engineer on our control systems team, you will:
- Improve and enhance our on-board systems for uncrewed vessels using state-of-the-art algorithms.
- Work closely with dedicated colleagues to create robust and user-friendly solutions.
- Get hands-on experience through testing and refining your solutions with our vessels, supported by passionate colleagues.
- Engage in tasks that match your expertise, focusing on autonomy, guidance, navigation, and control.
Qualifications:
- Education within a relevant field, for example within engineering cybernetics or marine technology.
- Experience with control systems or a desire to learn more.
- Experience with programming, specifically C++ (C++11 or later) and Python. Experience with Qt 5 or later is an advantage.
- Experienced with Linux-based systems (Ubuntu, Debian or similar) and the Git workflow.
- Fluent writing and good documentation skills.
- Experience with software development for robotic vehicles (ASVs/USVs, AUVs/UUVs/ROVs, autonomous cars, UAVs, plane industry, space industry, etc.) is a plus.
- Experience with integrating sensors or other payload systems is a plus.
- 2+ years relevant work experience is a plus, but not required.
