Do you want to be responsible for one of the most important product portfolios in Performance Coatings?
The Steel Protection team manages a portfolio of approximately 350 products representing 60% of the turnover in Jotun’s Performance Coatings. The topcoat portfolio with a yearly turnover of more than 552M USD, including the product brand Hardtop, one of Jotun’s most renowned brands, is an important product category for the industries within Shipping, Energy, Infrastructure, Yard/ EPC and sold through Dealer network. We are seeking a Global Category Manager for this portfolio.
The Global Category Manager for Topcoats will:
- Secure the growth and profitability of the assigned category by managing the existing portfolio
- Identify and capitalize on market opportunities that create value for both customers and Jotun
- Lead innovation projects as Project Manager.
In short, you'll be responsible for the management of an assigned product portfolio and to anchor agreed initiative in the Global network to secure a successful implementation in all target regions and ensure that the activities meet the targets and are well received.You will manage and develop the assigned Category through an in-depth insight of the current and potential application and use of the products, strategic and tactical positioning, and close management of the Category profitability, to strengthen Jotun’s brand as a preferred supplier and to create profitable growth.
Your tasks will be:
- Ensure that the product portfolio is relevant and fit-for-purpose by managing the global assortment and offering guidelines, tools, and methods for positioning regional and local assortment to ensure that we can meet customer’s needs and expectations.
- Act as Project Manager for selected innovation projects and collaborate with Regional Marketing, Sales, R&D, TSS and other relevant stakeholders throughout the innovation project.
- Ensure that Products in Service are maintained and consistent by monitoring use, feedback, positioning and profitability in the market to ensure an expected return on investment, quality standards, and brand recognition.
- Govern and support regional activity by working closely with regional sales and marketing networks to ensure the sharing of best practice, knowledge, and potential extended use of local product variations.
- Support network with product knowledge and product training.
- Be involved in collaboration with Multicolor Industry and establish strategic plans for Multicolor Industry and the topcoat products, including having product responsibility for the Multicolor Industry colourants.
Qualifications
To succeed and thrive in this position we believe you should have the following qualifications:
- You have work experience from marketing, R&D, Technical sales or sales from Jotun (at least 5 years) or comparable organization
- Hold a relevant degree at BSc or MSc level
- Ideally you have solid product knowledge from our field
