Up for sale, a B.C. Rich Mockingbird Acrylic Series electric guitar in excellent, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with a gigbag. An incredibly rare iteration of one of B.C. Rich’s most popular designs, this Acrylic Series Mockingbird features a transparent Blue finish that has faded to purple around the edges of the body, and completely through on the matching headstock. With a one-piece maple neck, thick slab rosewood fretboard, and pair of ultra hot B.C. Rich humbuckers, this Mockingbird truly sings. The pickups are powerful and punchy, able to handle high gain with ease, and deliver a focused crunch with plenty of muscle and crisp, cutting cleans. The guitar weighs 11lbs 10z, thanks to the solid acrylic body, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 9-42 strings, low action, and spot-on intonation.

The one-piece maple neck has a slender C shaped profile with good shoulder, measuring .775” deep at the 1st fret and .820” at the 12th. The thick slab rosewood fretboard features a 15“ radius, dot inlay, and stock medium jumbo fretwire. The frets have their full factory height and good meat, with just touch of uniform wear on the crowns of frets 1-2 and virtually no wear further up the fretboard. The guitar plays well in every register up the straight neck with an ideally adjusted and responsive truss rod. The scale length is a full 25 1/2“, and the nut measures 1 11/16“ in width. On the matching acrylic headstock, the chrome B.C. Rich-branded tuners turn smoothly and hold pitch well.

The electronics consist of individual Volume controls for each pickup, a Master Tone control, and a three-way pickup selector switch. The humbucker pair has transparent blue bobbins, and unlike the body, these plastics have aged to a more turquoise tint. The chrome hardware has plenty of shine, with just a hint of patina on the ABR-1 style bridge and tailpiece. The Blue acrylic body has aged to purple around the edges and in the cavities for a particularly cool bursted effect. Cosmetic wear is limited to scuffing in the pick path, with sparse scattered scuffs and scratches on the resilient solid acrylic body. The neck profile sports a pristine smooth gloss finish.
