For a project in Dubai, we are looking for a Mechanical Inspector!
Altera Production is seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Inspector for the Rosebank FPSO Project. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that the complete mechanical installation for Hull & Topside meets approved specifications, class and flag state requirements, regulatory bodies, approved drawings, and contracts.
Responsibilities:

Ensure all activities comply with laws, regulations, and contractual requirements, prioritizing health, safety, and environmental standards.

Promote HSE awareness and provide health and safety advice during fabrication, installation, and mechanical completion.

Attend inspections and mechanical completion activities to support commissioning preparation.

Liaise with the inspection team regarding technical information, standards, regulations, and practices.

Maintain archives and storage of inspection reports and track records.

Monitor fabrication progress and quality.

Oversee equipment preservation.

Ensure materials, equipment, and personnel skills meet required standards and qualifications according to recognized standards and regulatory requirements.

Assist in planning and handover of equipment and systems to the commissioning team.

Collaborate with the contractor to achieve mechanical completion with minimal punch list items.

Conduct final walk-downs before module acceptance, noting and categorizing punch list items as A or B, ensuring all "A" items are cleared prior to acceptance.

Work with classification societies on day-to-day issues as directed by the Managers (Hull and Topside).

Participate in inspections and testing as required.

Perform additional roles and responsibilities as needed.
Qualifications and Experience:
-
Extensive knowledge and experience with international shipbuilding standards and class societies requirements.

Familiarity with offshore production facilities standards.
-
Minimum of 8 years of experience in mechanical equipment installation within the Oil & Gas industry.

Recent relevant experience in Middle Eastern or Southeast Asian shipyards is advantageous.

Experience with modification projects and/or FPSO redeployment is strongly desired.

Recent relevant experience in UK project execution is beneficial.

Strong leadership and interpersonal skills applicable to a multidisciplinary project team.

Excellent problem-solving and persuasive communication abilities.

Working knowledge of turbines, generators, compressors, pumps, motors, vessels, alignment of equipment using laser alignment, and HVAC/refrigerant systems inspection.

Organized, systematic, and flexible approach to work.

Ability to prioritize tasks in a multi-tasking environment and meet tight deadlines.

Proficient in Microsoft Applications (Excel, Word, and Outlook).

Fluent in English, both written and verbal.
