"The Super Tower represents an "enhanced" speaker, dedicated to those who want greater extension and power of the low range and in general superior dynamic performance and power.

The appearance of the Super Tower is elegant and thanks to the numerous finishes that can be obtained, the speaker lends itself to making a good impression in any décor.

For its Super Tower, the ProAc indicates an accepted power between 40 and 250 watts and an impedance of 8 ohms.

The cabinet is built with the usual care that distinguishes the English house, in very high density chipboard of excellent section, excellently finished in natural wood, and is absolutely deaf to any stress (see "wild hazing").

Listening to them in a suitable environment, driven at very high volumes, but which did not touch the threshold of pain, the Super Towers proved to be among the most balanced speakers currently on the market, a confirmation of Tyler's exceptional talent.

The first thing I notice, inserting in the CD Player Marantz CD 94 a disc that is not very demanding from the point of view of musical content, but undoubtedly recorded with great care and wisdom, is the dynamics that these speakers are able to express, at the level of much larger and much more expensive speakers, with powerful timpani attachments, A truly impressive, very ready, dry drums, in short, an impression of power and the ability to express undistorted sound volumes that is truly exciting.

All this, and this is the most important thing, accompanied by a contrast and a microcontrast of the highest level. The midrange and the high range, from this point of view, for speed and cleanliness of the transients, make me think of those, which I consider exceptional, of the Martin Logan CLS. Many times you have the impression of being grappling with an excellent level electrostatic, due to the transparency and precision of the upper ranges, accompanied by the unmistakable punch of a high-efficiency dynamic speaker. A really tasty cocktail, to which is added a deep low end, much more than the appearance of the speaker might suggest, and decidedly clear.

The notes of the double bass are extremely articulate as well as those of the electric bass, the ability to discern is excellent, even at a high level of the different instruments even at very low frequencies, where most of the other speakers tend to knead, confuse, monotonize the musical content.

Excellent performance with the most demanding genres. A mixed choir of male, female and white voices like that of For unto a Child is Born from Handel's Messiah (Hogwood/Oyseau Lyre edition, of course), represents a prohibitive test even for speakers of considerable quality, but not for the Super Towers that give us clear, silvery, very clear voices and decidedly intelligible lyrics.

The baroque strings are excellent, but also the performance of the romantic orchestra (Schubert/Symphony No. 9 "The Great"/Sir George Solti/Decca), with the mass of the strings taking on tones of extraordinary sweetness in some moments.

Very, very good, very solid, slightly verticalized image, but still respectful of the original positions of the instrumentalists and extremely airy.

In short ProAc is a speaker of rare musicality which can be inserted without any theme even in systems of considerable difficulty. In the range of excellent speakers from the British company, the Super Tower goes, in my opinion, directly behind Studio 3, and those who read my articles know how much this compliment means to me!"
