We need your AI expertise on our quest to advance adaptive robot intelligence
InMind is a newly formed company taking on the challenge of making robots learn. Our ambitious goal is to develop the world’s first real-time adaptive system for embedded deep learning. We believe that InMind’s adaptive robot intelligence has the potential to become the future’s most valuable technology.
From our headquarters in Trondheim the engineering work has already started. The work is based on the technical expertise of our founder Torgeir Trøite, an electrical engineer and successful serial entrepreneur. We are now building a strong technical team who will need to solve challenges, work hard and have lots of fun along the way in order to achieve our ambitious and potential world-changing goal.
“We have bold ambitions! InMind is advancing real-time adaptive robot intelligence that allows robots to learn from their environment and adapt to new tasks autonomously. Personally, I strongly believe that the ability for robots to learn and improve is the key to future productivity and innovation. And I am confident that our solutions will become some of the most valuable and sought-after technologies.” – Torgeir Trøite, Founder/CEO/Head of Development
Join our R&D team as our expert on AI
Our current goal is to build a team of 6-8 engineers working together on all the various aspects needed to deliver a working and learning robotics system.
The role as Robotics Engineer - AI will be key to finding the solution to our challenges within designing and implementing foundation models for robotics.
Qualifications & Experience
We are seeking a highly skilled Robotics Engineer with a strong focus on Artificial Intelligence. The ideal candidate will have a blend of expertise in both robotics and AI, and preferably professional experience from working with advanced technologies and methodologies.
Key qualifications include:
- AI and Machine Learning: Proficiency in designing and implementing deep neural networks, applying machine learning techniques, and working with frameworks like PyTorch. Strong understanding of backpropagation, transformers, diffusion models, regularization techniques, and hyperparameter tuning.
- Programming and Development: Expertise in Python programming, version control with Git, and CI/CD practices for efficient and collaborative development.
- Advanced Computation: Experience with GPU programming and CUDA for accelerating machine learning computations and robotic simulations.
- Computer Vision and Perception: Expertise in computer vision techniques, large language models (LLM), and generative models to enhance robotic perception and interaction with the environment.
- Robotics and Sensors: Comprehensive understanding of robotics principles, including kinematics, dynamics, control systems, and knowledge of various sensors used in robotics for navigation, perception, and interaction.
- Analytical Skills: Strong foundation in probability and statistics for developing robust AI algorithms.
We do not require a specific university degree, as your hands-on experience and practical knowledge are what is essential to us. However, holding an MSc or PhD in fields such as electronics, computer science, engineering, signal processing, cybernetics, mathematics, or physics is certainly advantageous.
Your Competence & Personal Attributes
We seek both experienced professionals and recent graduates who embody the following characteristics:
- Quick Learner : You quickly acquire new skills and effectively share your expertise with the team
- Analytical Thinker : You possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Innovative Mindset : You see the value in developing something new and innovative
- Team Player : You collaborate well within a team environment
- Curious and Approachable : You are eager to tackle new challenges, approachable, and solution-oriented
We Offer
- A unique opportunity to develop new and groundbreaking technology as part of a team of 6-8 engineers, under the sound leadership of a seasoned and experienced Head of Development
- The chance to grow personally and professionally as part of a competent, creative work environment with dedicated colleagues
- Both challenges and the joy of seeing the impact of your own work
- Inspiring offices centrally located in Trondheim, with a partly sponsored cafeteria, free parking, rain-free bicycle storage and a well-stocked exercise room with showers
- Excellent terms, conditions and benefits
- A sound pension plan and regular benefits like mobile phone and internet coverage
Sometimes in life, you just have to take a chance – perhaps this is yours?
Please send us your application today – we review and interview candidates on an ongoing basis, also before the formal application deadline so don’t hesitate to reach out to Trude Støren, acting Head of Recruitment (928 92 461) or Torgeir Trøite, CEO (908 30 495) if you have any questions.
Curious about other opportunities?
Over the course of the coming moths we will be building up our organization both on the technical and the business side. We are currently looking for robotics engineers with specialization and experience within AI and ML, Cybernetics and Control Systems, Embedded Systems and FPGA development, Signal Processing and Electronics design- and development. We also accept open applications.
