We are looking for a Senior Software Developer to strengthen our internal competence in developing scalable, high-performance web applications using modern frameworks and technologies.

As one of our new software developers, you will join an amazing team that is key to our Ducky impact journey. Your job will be in full stack development; you will implement and maintain both client-side and server-side applications, ensuring seamless integration and optimal performance across the entire software stack. You will be a part of a cross functional development team where you will collaborate and support other disciplines with their work in design and applied research.

As our new senior software developer, you will:

• Take a leading voice in ensuring the scalability, performance, and security of applications.

• Implement responsive and dynamic user interfaces using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and frontend frameworks like React.

• Design and develop server-side logic, APIs, and databases using languages and frameworks such as Node.js and Python.

• Implement CI/CD pipelines to automate testing, deployment, and monitoring.

• Manage cloud services and infrastructure as code.

• Integrate third-party services and APIs.

• Optimise queries and manage database performance, security, and backup.

• Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code.

• Conduct code reviews and mentor junior developers.

• Adhere to and promote coding standards and best practices.

• Participate in agile development processes, including sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives.

• Identify and resolve technical issues across the stack.

• Perform root cause analysis and implement solutions to prevent recurrence.

• Collaborate with UX/UI designers to ensure a high-quality user experience.

• Implement security best practices in both frontend and backend development.

• Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments.

Skill requirements

• 4+ years of development experience

• You are confident in Agile methodology

• You are familiar with the entire development process

• You can mentor other developers and share your knowledge.

• You are independent, analytical, and structured and enjoy digging into the details.

• You have professional experience working with web-based programming languages and frameworks such as NextJS, Typescript, React, ExpressJS, Python.

• You have strong written and verbal communication skills, minimum in English, ideally with a Nordic language in addition.

• You are knowledgeable and/or have experience with managing cloud services and infrastructure as code such as in AWS or GCP.
