24 x 46cm, unpaginated (44pp approx). Card covers. Exhibition catalogue which was Demand’s 14th exhibition and his second in a non-commercial space. Thirteen works reproduced in colours (most full page) and 2 installation views of shows. Essays by Thomas Kellien and Bernard Burgi and Stuart Morgan in German. Demand’s paper sculptures in turn become photographs as their final format which can surprise in their realism – the lack of any figuration in the works make them seem distant and cool but that is insufficient to allow the eye to identify them as fraudulent.

Thomas Cyrill Demand (born 1964[1]) is a German sculptor and photographer. He currently lives and works in Berlin[1] and Los Angeles, and teaches at the University of Fine Arts, Hamburg. He makes photographs of three-dimensional models that look like real images of rooms and other spaces,[2] often sites loaded with social and political meanings.[3] Demand thus describes himself not as a photographer, but as a conceptual artist for whom photography is an intrinsic part of his creative process.
