Want to work with testing at our state of the art R&D center? Jotun is seeking a Testing Engineer!
Our global Research and Development (R&D) organization is now looking for a new Testing engineer.
The testing department is responsible for testing and approving products and systems according to qualification programs within the field of steel and corrosion protection. The qualification programs are in accordance with international standards or customer specifications and often done in close collaboration with external test institutes and customers.
In addition, the Testing Department is involved in development of test methods and qualification programs, both internally for Jotun, and externally in collaborations working groups in ISO, NORSOK and with customers.
In 2020 a state-of-art headquarters (HQ) were opened in Sandefjord, which includes one of the largest privately owned R&D centers in Europe. Almost 300 specialists with different backgrounds currently work at our HQ with R&D – organized according to the four segments (decorative, protective, marine and powder).
Job responsibilities
As a Testing Engineer you will perform and lead test projects where you will be responsible for acquiring test reports and approvals as well as ensuring that the process is in accordance with international requirements, specifications, and standards. In this process you will be the main contact person towards external test institutes and also the customer.
You will contribute in International Working Groups for standards and new standardized methods and establish routines so that the standards are well known and are used in the R&D laboratory.
As a Testing Engineer you will be a professional participant in larger projects within the industry and research organizations and seek knowledge through literature, practical experience and conferences so that new testing technology or methodology can be used by the company.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR AND WHAT WE OFFER
To succeed and thrive in this position we believe you should have the following qualifications:
- Hold a BSc or MSc in a relevant field and preferrable within the field Electrochemistry or Material Science.
- Preferable with laboratory work experience
- Good English skills – both spoken and written
- Experience with MS office 365 and relevant tools for data analysis
