Specialist Environmental Engineer, Turnkey and Offshore Projects G&T
For one of our client we are looking for a Specialist Environmental Engineer, Turnkey and Offshore Projects G&T.
The purpose of this role is to manage all aspects of Environmental in project during Tender phase when required. Manage all aspects of Environmental in project from project Start-up to Close-Out as required in the Contract. To Ensure that the project team is knowledgeable about and compliant to Environmental systems and tools.
Responsibilities:
GENERAL
- Manage and communicate the required Environmental activities for project by preparing the relevant Project Plans and Procedures
- Manage Project Environmental aspects from project Start-up to Close Out within the defined areas manufacturing and / or installation
- Manage the client Environmental requirements and - interfaces
- In tender, analyse the Environmental demands and give input to the Tender Manager
- Participate in department/company work such as:
- Adhere to company policies and procedures.
- Take personal responsibility for own HSE in all involved activities.
- Have zero tolerance for poor HSE standards, and intervene to stop unsafe work.
- Act like a HSE role model for others.
- Tender work
REPORTING
- Manage & distribute KPI’s related to Environmental as specific to the Project
- Alert the Project Manager of any risks or delays with the potential of having a detrimental effect on Environmental activities or results
- Contribute to required reporting towards Client
- Monitor and evaluate if quality assurance planning & Client requirements are well applied
Project Environmental (E)
- General Descriptions
- Knowledge of countries' statutory and local environmental legislation, environmental requirements, standards, and regulations. In addition to keeping updated to mentioned, including to follow the latest relevant changes.
- Ensuring and monitoring compliance with relevant environmental legislation, requirements, standards and regulations, and identifying ways of reducing environmental impact.
- Manage and follow up on subcontractors and suppliers to ensure compliance with the project's environmental requirements.
- Act as the contact person in the project concerning all environmental matters. Provide support and inform colleagues involved in the project regarding environmental documents and activities.
- Adhere to the (construction) environmental management system (EMS) and encourage continuous improvements.
- Ensure and encourage to appropriate waste management to promote circular economy
- Ensure to take decisions in best regards of protection of wildlife, marine life and biodiversity to reduce environmental impact during planning, installation and follow-up.
- Specific Descriptions
- Provide relevant documentation and plans for the project (e.g., CEMP, Environmental Emergency Response Plan etc.)
- Conduct environmental inspections and managing environmental audits
- Conduct incident investigations and identify underlying causes. Monitoring the resolution of environmental non-compliances
- Be fully conversant with techniques used in the management of hazards and advising on suitable measures that can be used for preventing and recovering from accident situation
- Be fully conversant with Employer environmental documents and emergency procedure
- Monitoring and maintenance of environmental protection measures requested by the Employer
- Collecting and reporting data on fuel consumption, waste, and loss of biodiversity in projects, including other areas concerning the environment.
Qualifications:
- Scandinavian language preferred
- Fluent in English, verbal and written
- High efficiency / high performer in projects freeing up time for other projects / discipline work. Proactive in assisting others
Work Experience:
- Typically 10-12 years experience as Environmental/QHSER Manager from manufacturing, installation and offshore
- Strong understanding and knowledge in all QHSER discipline areas within clients projects (Quality, Health, Safety, Environment, Risk).
- Fully Self-going on basic tasks within Environmental discipline. Typically master as Environmental manager in turnkey projects / EPCI projects
- Advanced ability and willingness to train / assist others on key tasks (tools, software) within Environmental discipline area. Willing and able to act as discipline responsible for one or more of the disciplines within the Environmental area.
- Advanced ability and willingness to lead / bridge others in Environmental tasks wrt the wide range of disciplines in the projects (engineering, procurement, manufacturing, marine installation, protection, land installation, sub-contracting)
Knowledge of industrial processes – as cable manufacturing, relevant industry and/or marine
Education:
- University degree MSc, MBA, BSc or similar, preferably in engineering- or QHSER/Environmental discipline
