NOV is seeking skilled and motivated process engineers to join our team as Applications Engineer and play a pivotal role in driving the advancement of carbon capture, hydrogen, and other low-carbon solutions processes. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development and deployment of cutting-edge technologies that have a significant impact on reducing carbon emissions and creating a sustainable future. The role will support active client engagements to promote technology offerings in the same low-carbon solutions sector.
Technology and product offerings will be progressed to viable commercial offerings. Following client, the applications engineers will be taking the offerings to deployment and advancing solutions in the marketplace with the support of processing experts. This role spans early-stage technology assessment to late-stage deployment with bridging the gap between technical and commercial. Candidate to have an appetite for commercial responsibility and strategy development.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work under the direction of the Low Carbon & Environmental team
- Support global tendering with enabling low carbon solutions strategy
- Support and coordinate with early study/concept work on CCS & Hydrogen applications with technical team
- Support the standardization & development of the core product portfolio
- Support technical sales for CCS & Hydrogen applications
- Support and build process expertise to bring forward commercial opportunities to market
- Support business developers to ensure Low Carbon strategy and market focus is met
- Support client engagement and facilitate the technical and commercial offerings with client expectations
QUALIFICATIONS:
- MSc. in Process or Chemical Engineering, or similar (Essential) or BSc. In Process or Chemical Engineering
EXPERIENCE:
- 5-10+ years experience in the process engineering industry
- Process engineering experience – P&ID design, HAZOP, process simulation, plant and facilities operations and equipment design
- Experience with gas processing technologies is an advantage in particular with Amine system, PSA, TEG and Solid Desiccant dehydration systems
- Experience with CCUS & Hydrogen technologies is an advantage
- Experience in the following industry sectors (Desirable one or more):
- Industrial Scale Process Equipment (compressors, pumps, vessels, towers, skids, packages, heat exchangers)
- Utilities (Power, Water, Waste)
- Chemicals
- Pulp and Paper
- Concrete
- Oil and Gas
SKILLS, TRAINING & SPECIALIST KNOWLEDGE:
- Exceptional communication skills, in particular ability to create high quality engineering reports and deliverables
- Detailed knowledge of process engineering documents and drawings (PFD/P&IDs, etc.)
- Knowledge of process simulation (Aspen, Hysys, Protreat, Prosim, Unisim, etc.)
- Knowledge of ASME and API standards
- Ability to work independently and with the team
- Proactive, adaptable, and flexible mindset
- Computer literacy (including good command of Microsoft Office)
