Are you our new Global Category Manager?
Structural fire protection of Energy and Infrastructure installations are a key focus area within Jotun Performance Coatings’ strategy. The hydrocarbon & cellulosic fire protection categories comprise growing portfolios of intumescent products under the Jotachar & SteelMaster brands
We are seeking two Global Category Managers to develop these portfolios.
The Global Category Managers will:
- Secure the growth and profitability of the categories by managing the existing Jotachar or SteelMaster portfolios
- Identify and capitalize on market opportunities that create value for both customers and Jotun
- Lead selected innovation projects as Project Manager.
You will be responsible for the management of the category, ensuring successful implementation of agreed tasks in the Sales and Marketing plan across target regions. Strong support and collaboration within the global network are key requirements of this role, as is strong product governance for what is a safety critical product portfolio.
You will be expected to gain in-depth insights into the needs of our customers combined with a knowledge of relevant fire protection regulations in the global energy or infrastructure industry. You will develop the product portfolio through building, maintaining and implementing product roadmaps in collaboration with regional colleagues.
Job Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain intumescent product positioning, with clear product differentiation arguments and product presentations for the brand
- Run market mapping activities (including competitor benchmarking), collecting relevant insight from and aligning with Regional Marketing to adjust product portfolio and required marketing activities to meet overall category strategy
- Develop/update brand stamps, innovation concepts and communication material for the relevant brands
- Be a Project Manager for selected key projects in collaboration with regional category managers. Quality assuring relevant market insight, developing accurate business cases and coordinating deliverables from relevant stakeholders (Regional Marketing, Sales, R&D, TSS)
- Maintain products in service and monitor usage, feedback, positioning and profitability in the market in order to ensure an expected return on investment, quality standards and brands recognition.
- Facilitate and manage activities by working closely with sales, R&D and regional marketing organizations. Prioritizing activities within R&D and sharing best practice, knowledge and potential extended use of products and solutions. aligning with regional organizations and Sales
- Provide support, product and industry training to develop intumescent knowledge in our global network, both through structured training programs as well as on-the-job coaching

Qualifications
To succeed and thrive in this position we believe you should have the following qualifications:
- You have at least 5 years' work experience from marketing, R&D, Technical sales or sales
- Hold a relevant degree at BSc or MSc level
- Ideally you have product and market knowledge of fire protection coatings
- Enjoy working in a diverse work culture, enjoy visiting different countries and are prepared for ~50-60 travelling days per year

Location:
Location of the position can be discussed, although the preference is at our international Headquarter in Sandefjord, Norway, or at our regional office for the Middle East in Dubai. Alternative locations could be at one of our regional offices in Asia.
