Are you NCAs new Head of Division for Middle East, Asia and Latin America?

We are looking for a motivated, committed and experienced leader who is not afraid of challenges. You will hold a position of business-critical importance to NCA, managing and overseeing NCA’s work in the Middle East, Asia and Latin America. In NCA, we seek leaders who are motivated by our vision, our work and our values.
You will lead a team of highly competent and dedicated staff in Oslo, and our Country Directors. In this role, you will also be part of the Department of International Programmes’ (DIP) Management Team and represent the organisation in selected external forums, including close interaction with NCA’s sister agencies in the ACT Alliance.

Travel to countries with a high security risk must be expected.

We will need your focus on the following areas in the role:

Line management and employer follow-up:

• Line management and follow-up of staff in Middle East, Asia and Latin America division in Oslo.
• Line management and follow-up of Country Directors in the region.
• Recruitments when relevant in collaboration with the HR department.
• Performance development reviews and offer professional development guidance and support for staff.

Strategic management:

• For division and country offices, within the division mandate.
• Part of the Management Team in the Department of International Programmes.
• Work with the Director of International Programmes and the other Heads of Division in the department to advance the overall goals and vision of NCA, to coordinate resources and processes and to ensure a healthy working environment.

Professional management:

• Coaching, guidance and motivation of staff.
• Review, quality assurance and validation of professional deliveries.
• Representation and professional responsibility outside the division and outside DIP on subject areas under the division’s mandate.

Areas of responsibility:

• Support and follow up of the country offices’ implementation of their country strategies.
• Oversight of country programmes, including annual program cycle, financial performance, and compliance with routines and standards.
• Oversight of risk management, including safety and access-related matters.
• Key role in crisis management within designated geographic area.
• Representation, networking, advocacy and stakeholder management vis-à-vis relevant stakeholders, such as the Norwegian government, key institutional donors, church networks, etc.
• Internal and external communication on context and results.

Educational requirements/qualifications:

• Education at a higher level.
• Fluency in English and Norwegian.

Work experience/ results:

• Leadership and management experience needed.
• Extensive experience with overseeing and/or implementing international humanitarian and development work needed, both on country/program level and Head Office level, in particular from the Middle East, Asia and Latin America region(s).
• Relevant work experience from medium to large and complex organisations.
• Experience from faith-based and/or multi-faith work is an advantage.
• Experience with networking and representation is an advantage.
• Experience with project cycle management, as well as process and change management is an advantage.
• Knowledge of other working languages in the region would be regarded as an asset.
