Housekeeper & Cook at the Embassy of Ireland

The Embassy of Ireland, Oslo is seeking to recruit a Housekeeper and Cook for the Official Accommodation of the Ambassador. This is a full time position, subject to a probationary period and will start as soon as possible.

Roles and Responsibilities:

The precise range of duties will vary over time, but will include the following:

• Performance of tasks at the Official Accommodation of the Ambassador to ensure that it is fit for purpose for official representation
• Cleaning and first line maintenance of the Official Accommodation and associated duties (including path clearing during snow)
• Supervision of suppliers at the Official Accommodation including liaison with security, landscaping and other contractors and delivery operatives on site as well as liaison with the Embassy
• Preparation of meals and catering of functions including receptions, buffets, and sit down lunches and dinners
• Service at dinners, lunches, receptions and other externally-catered events hosted by the Embassy, including the supervision of additional staff for larger events
• Assistance with the organisation of functions and events
• Provision of tea/coffee for meetings on request
• Cleaning of kitchen, food preparation areas and all kitchen equipment to a high standard
• Sourcing and purchase of safe and high quality food for official functions and liaison with wholesalers
• Care and management of all State assets at the Official Accommodation, including representational crystal, silver, china and alcohol
• Maintenance and upkeep of the Official Accommodation inventory
• Management of the Accommodation during absence of the Ambassador on leave or otherwise
• Any other duties which may be required
