Director Accounting
We are looking for an engaged and highly qualified Director Accounting to strengthen and lead Norfund’s accounting and cash management team.
The team consists of three employees in addition to the director. The accounting and cash management team works closely with Norfunds external provider of accounting services, other Norfund departments whereof particularly treasury and the controlling team, and Norfunds external Auditor.
The core responsibilities of the team are quarterly financial reporting and annual accounts, invoice handling and disbursements. The Director Accounting will be responsible for initiating and implementing improvements related to quality and efficiency of the accounting process and reporting. The role will also collaborate and be involved in projects led by the internal auditor and the Risk and Audit Committee in Norfund.
The position reports to EVP Chief Financial and Risk Officer and will be a part of this management team.
We believe that the ideal candidate has extensive knowledge and experience with accounting from being an auditor/accountant or finance manager, with team-leader experience.
Responsibilities and tasks
- Responsibility for financial reporting - quarterly and annual account to the management team and the board of Norfund
- Responsible for the accounting in Norfund as well as contact with the external accounting provider and the external auditor
- Responsibility for accounting, tax and reporting for companies in which Norfund invests together with private investors
- Invoice handling and disbursements
Specific qualifications for this position
- Master’s degree in Business, Economics, Finance or equivalent with a strong academic record
- 7+ years relevant job experience
- Demonstrated leadership skills ideally having managed an intercultural team
- Excellent communication skills in Norwegian and English
- Extensive experience with IFRS and NGAAP
- Result oriented with a structured and efficient work style
- Strong analytical and interpersonal/collaborative skills
