A lone warrior wages war against a group of supernatural beings known as 'The Djinn' in order to prove himself as the strongest of all. These powerful beings can only be taken down by one thing: one of their own.

Our hero, KOKOU, wanders the world believing himself to be the only 'Artificial Djinn'. Having seen enough of the world to scoff at the demands of gods and the ambition to one day rule above all beings, he cryptically prepares for a coming war. Leaving only death in his wake to enemies and allies alike, he happens upon Yasmin - another Artificial Djinn, a young girl who will be of use to him in the dark days to come.

KOKOU is a dark fantasy comic aimed at adults, and is deeply rooted in African mythological traditions from all over the continent, representing legends and stories from Kanuri, Fula, Hausa, Yoruba, Edo, Arab, Berber, Oromo and Amahara, all in the context of a single quest for power, meaning, and inner strength.
