Job Description
Our Compliance team is dedicated to the promotion of market regulations at Statkraft, by seeking to prevent, detect and respond to any potential breaches. The team consists of thirteen compliance personnel located in Oslo, Dusseldorf and London.
Our Trade Support Processes group within Compliance team conducts trade surveillance, and it promotes compliant trading support processes and compliance with the rules of the exchanges on which Statkraft trades.
The group currently consists of five employees. Since one of the group’s members is moving to another role, we are looking to recruit another Trade Surveillance and Support Analyst to:
- Conduct first level surveillance control and monitor the market conduct of Statkraft traders and dispatchers as required by, respectively, the EU Market Abuse Regulation (MAR) and EU’s Regulation on wholesale energy market integrity and transparency No 1227/2011 (“REMIT”). Additionally, to conduct first level trade surveillance to detect any potential breaches of applicable US and exchange regulations with regard to Statkraft’s trading activities in the US
- Escalate any suspicions of market abuse to the second level Surveillance Officers who further investigate the suspicious trading activities
- Support Trade Support & Rules of Trading Venues Lead to foster processes required for compliant trading, including self-trade prevention, communications monitoring, position limit monitoring and more
- Support Trade Support & Rules of Trading Venues Lead to organise compliance with the rules of trading venues.
Qualifications
Trade Surveillance & Support Analyst is to have:
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (B.A. / M.A. / M.S.) in Finance, Economics, Business, Mathematics, or similar
- A good understanding of the trading business in markets products or commodities
- Experience from the front office, middle office, back office, product control, risk management, new product introduction, markets compliance, trade surveillance or IT department of a trading business or exchange
- 5 years or more of working experience
- A keen interest in the details of the workings of traded markets and trade-related processes
- An analytical and inquisitive mindset
- A robust disposition and a rigorous approach to work
- The ability to work independently or as part of a team and to thrive in a hectic environment
- Good communication skills in English. A second European language would be an advantage.
