The first Big Crown Pointer Date (1938) had an oversized crown that could be easily operated by a pilot wearing gloves, along with large Arabic numerals so the time could be read quickly in the cockpit. Oris also known for their high-end divers. watches, used by professionals since the late 1960s.

The Big Crown ProPilot 40th Squadron Limited Edition, has a multi-piece stainless steel case, grey PVD plated. Sapphire glass on both sides, anti-reflective coating inside, grey PVD plated, screwed, special engravings.
