Become the first Sales Support Advisor for a local engineering company
Join a local engineering company working with clients worldwide by becoming their first Sales Support Advisor. With a high volume of inquiries, they need someone to manage the entire customer journey, from needs analysis to product delivery and follow-up. If you are passionate about giving a high service level and a professional, customer-focused dialogue within the maritime industry, then this position can be for you!
About the role
Our client is a maritime-oriented engineering company serving high-profile international clients. In this role, you will handle incoming inquiries from current or potential customers, ensuring they receive what they need at the right time. This includes assessing their needs, advising on suitable products, finalizing the sale, arranging transportation and shipments, customs handling, and invoicing. Additionally, you will follow up with customers to confirm their satisfaction, ensure their needs were met accurately, and see if they have anything else you can help them with.
Besides the administrative duties, the position requires regular visits to the warehouse (weekly or bi-weekly) to maintain an overview of product inventory and, when needed, assist in packing and shipping more complex products - everything to make sure the client gets the right product at the right time for the right shipping cost. You will also be part of the team representing the company at major ship equipment fairs worldwide, helping to expand the company’s network, promote its products, and strengthen relationships with existing and potential customers.
This position offers the opportunity to work internationally with a unique product in the maritime industry while being part of a local team that prioritizes great teamwork. You will join a small team that collaborates closely to manage a variety of interesting customer inquiries, and you'll be amazed by the innovative solutions they provide to their clients! If you see yourself as an honest, detail-oriented, and service-minded individual eager to learn about the maritime industry, logistics, and international business, this could be your perfect role.
Work tasks
- Handling incoming customer inquiries via phone and email
- Engaging directly with customers to understand their product needs
- Managing orders, shipments, logistics, and customs to deliver products to customers
- Discussing pricing details with customers, both for orders and shipment
- Following up with customers to ensure satisfaction and identify future needs
- Visiting the warehouse to ensure smooth and cost-effective order processing and shipping
We are looking for
- You who are fluent in both spoken and written English (all communication with the company's customers is conducted in English)
- You who are proficient in spoken and written Norwegian (internal communications and some partner dialogues are in Norwegian, so you need to be comfortable with a C1-level fluency)
- You who have a work permit in Norway
- You who are strongly motivated to take on the responsibilities this role entails
For this position, we do not have any requirements related to education or previous work experience. Instead, your personal competencies are crucial. To succeed in the role, you need to be detail-oriented and thorough, with a focus on delivering high-quality work. You take responsibility and ownership of your tasks, whether it’s calling a customer for additional information or helping warehouse staff with a shipment when needed. You are supportive, always willing to help others, and genuinely care about meeting customer needs. You are resilient, persistent, and confident in your ability to achieve the desired outcome.
It is meritorious if you have theoretical or practical experience in maritime or shipping, or have worked in a customers-focused position.
