Director Internal Audit Nordics
The role holder will be responsible for designated BUs (Telenor Norway, Telenor Denmark) as well as Business Area (BA) Infrastructure. The role reports to VP Localised Teams, GIAI.
Responsibility
Board Coordination: Manage delivery of GIAI’s inputs into Board meetings in relation to audit status updates, audit action follow-up status reports and Investigation statistical overviews.
Annual Audit Plan: Contribute to GIAI’s annual planning process in relation to the designated BUs including BU dialogues and anchoring with BU executive management.
Audit action follow up process: Coordinate the quarterly audit action follow-up process opposite the relevant BUs and work together with the audit leads to ensure robust evaluation of remediation evidence provided by the BU for action closure.
Audit execution: Act as lead or support auditor for audit projects across Telenor.
Day-to-day Operational Work: Support the VP Localised Team and other VPs with planning and executing their teams’ audits and other activities in relation to the BU(s). Support colleagues with queries relating to the designated BUs, maintain the internal audit follow up system entries (Archer), and help to ensure a professional audit process.
Tasks
Board engagement: Coordinate and deliver on the Board reporting agenda for GIAI.
Annual Audit Plan: Propose relevant risk-based audit topic proposals as part of GIAI’s annual planning cycle for preparation of the group audit plan. Liaise with BU and BA management on this according to GIAI process.
Audit action follow up: Run the quarterly audit action follow-up process. In coordination with project lead auditors, ensure fair validation of management’s mitigating actions from the audits, update the relevant systems, and provide timely reporting on status as part of GIAI’s group-wide consolidated reporting.
Stakeholder management: Building and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders at different levels in the respective organisations.
Audit assignments: Both lead and participate in audit assignments globally.
Professional knowledge, experience and expertise necessary to deliver on role responsibilities
Good verbal ability in Norwegian; fluent English both written and oral. Strong English skills are required, especially since corporate language is English and report writing/communication is an important part of the day-to-day tasks.
Critical for the role holder to have analytical thinking and a solution-oriented mind-set.
Understanding of general governance, risk, and compliance (GRC) concepts.
Experience in interacting with senior management since the role requires Board and top management stakeholder interaction.
Strong collaboration/influencing skills.
Team Player with a positive collaborative mindset - important in a global team context.
Self- driven – ability to work pro-actively for the wider team benefit.
Strong presentation skills
Education
• Master’s degree in business administration/ IT/technical. Experience of more than 12 years within internal audit can compensate for the lack of a Master’s degree.
Institute of Internal Audit Professional certification (e.g. CIA, CISA, CRMA etc.) is considered beneficial.
Qualifications in and experience from ESG and/or Health, Safety & Security are also considered beneficial.
Work experience: Between 12-15 years’ work experience from internal audit or another GRC domain is required.
