It is an exciting time to join Nordic Semiconductor as we continue to build upon our successful history of wireless innovation. We are seeking a Legal Counsel to support our growing business, with a primary focus on contractual support and advisory. This role will be a critical part of our legal team, working on key contracts for both customers and suppliers. You will provide comprehensive legal support and help shape strategic decisions that drive Nordic Semiconductor’s global operations.
You will be the main legal resource for all high-value contracts, advising on compliance, mitigating risks, and negotiating terms for the company. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work at the intersection of law and technology, influencing the success of critical projects and relationships. You will be reporting to Head of Legal and work closely with the rest of the Oslo-based legal and compliance teams in Nordic.
Key responsibilities
- Provide continuous support with key contracts, including distribution contracts, key customer contracts, product terms, software licenses and cloud contracts. This includes drafting, advising on interpretation and legal effect and participating in negotiations with counterparties.
- Supporting the Nordic group by facilitating and managing contract lifecycle management tools and resources, including assessing new legal-tech opportunities created by machine learning and large language models.
- Supporting in contentions and non-contentious legal matters, such as investigations, disputes, litigation, M&A and advising the Nordic group on regulatory developments and requirements. The right candidate will be given opportunities to develop and engage broadly within the Nordic group and its legal operations.
Key Qualifications
- A masters degree in law with strong academic results
- At least two years working experience from a law firm or an in-house legal department
- Experience drafting, advising on and negotiating contracts, as well as navigating contentious and non-contentious legal matters.
- Experience from other areas of law relevant for Nordic is considered an asset but not a necessity. These can for example be cyber and data privacy law, anti-trust/competition law, intellectual property law, regulation of artificial intelligence or electronic contracting.
- Experience of working in international environments is considered an asset but not necessary.
- Professional proficiency in English and either Norwegian, Swedish or Danish. English is our working language. Candidates will be asked to engage in a short, written exercise as part of the interview process.
