Chamonix 45n-2 - Docter 210mm f/4.5 - holders

Selling my 4x5 camera kit :

Camera : a Chamonix 045N-2 in very good condition.

The bellows are the standard model, and I upgraded the ground glass to a brighter one with no grids. (I probably have the original Chamonix ground glass somewhere)

Great condition, everything moves smoothly and locks tightly. Some tiny marks here and there from normal use. The bellows are supple and light tight.

Lens : a Docter 210mm f/4.5 in excellent condition. Speeds are spot on, glass is spotless.

Docter is the name of the company that took over the Zeiss factory in Jena after the reunification of east and west Germany. They continued producing the Zeiss designs under a new name and with somewhat improved production techniques over the years. This lens is a Tessar design, single coated, and mounted in a modern Copal 3 shutter. A rare example of 100+ years old lens design, but produced in the 1990s with the benefits of modern manufacturing. 🤓

This specific one is in a brass barrel, probably some kind of special edition…

Also included : 5 film holders, and some B&W film (need to check what I have left), a focusing hood, and an insert that fits the kit nicely and can go into a standard backpack.
