Senior/Principal Engineer - Telecom

We are looking for a senior Telecom engineer to strengthen our Telecom department in Bergen.

About the positionAs a Telecom engineer you will  work with fiber network infrastructure and telecommunication equipment design.

Responsibilities and tasks include

• Discipline check and approval of produced documents and drawings in the project
• Produce or update fiber network topology and system diagrams as required by project (PAGA, CCTV, 4G, UHF, MPLS, Subsea cable monitoring system, PDCS fiber infrastructure)
• Knowledge of general interfaces to instrumentation/electro/automation
• Discussions with client and vendor representatives in order to find optimal technical solutions
• Order telecom materials(bulk/equipment) needed for offshore/onshore installation

Qualifications

• Bachelor or master's degree in relevant field. Relevant experience may compensate for a lack of formal education.
• Extensive experience (5+ years) within telecommunication
• Experience within offshore related projects and studies
• Advantageous with knowledge of relevant standards such as ATEX, IEC61892 and NORSOK
• Advantageous to have experience with modifications on existing offshore installations
• Knowledge of offshore telecommunication systems (PAGA, CCTV, 4G, UHF, MPLS, Subsea cable monitoring system, PDCS fiber infrastructure)
• Proficient in both Norwegian and English

• Effective communication in both spoken and written English. While proficiency in Norwegian is valued, it is not mandatory. However, a willingness to learn the language is desirable.
