Lead Instrumentation Deliveries in High-Impact Oil & Gas Projects
Jefferson Wells is looking for an experienced Instrument Engineer for our client, a key player in the oil and gas sector. We are seeking a candidate with extensive experience in instrumentation, particularly within modification projects. You will play a crucial role in all phases of the project, from planning and procurement to installation and quality assurance.
Tasks and Responsibilities
- Review documents and drawings, identifying the scope within FEED (Front-End Engineering Design)
- Develop design documentation for estimation, planning, and procurement during both FEED and execution phases
- Present and communicate work progress during the FEED phase
- Update drawing materials and create work packages for installation
- Order and follow up on required materials, including both bulk orders and package purchases
- Take full responsibility for all instrument deliveries within a project
- Conduct site surveys and ensure proper implementation of instrumentation
Background and Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in multidiscipline oil and gas projects, with a focus on instrumentation, preferably within modification projects
- Strong collaboration skills and a deep understanding of the complexity and interaction within modification projects
- Field instrumentation experience: defining equipment requirements, developing technical documentation, leading equipment procurement, and performing quality checks on documentation and equipment
- Experience in developing design documentation, conducting site surveys, evaluating equipment and suppliers, assessing installation methods, and preparing installation documentation
- Solid knowledge of relevant directives and harmonized standards, such as ATEX, and international standards like IEC
- Education: Minimum Bachelor’s degree or higher. A technical school degree with 9 years of relevant engineering experience can also be considered
- Proficiency in tools such as MS Visio and MS Office
- Required courses: Basic Ex, and Exi (for projects involving intrinsically safe circuits)
- English is the working language for the project, and strong written and spoken English skills are required.
