Ensure Project Success Through QHSER Practices
Jefferson Wells is seeking a Senior Quality Engineer on behalf of our client in Oslo. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Quality, Health & Safety, Environmental, and Risk Management (QHSER) in project environments, particularly within manufacturing, installation, or offshore projects. This role is a 12-month assignment with an immediate start, and the successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that the client's management systems, as well as regulatory and client-specific requirements, are fully met throughout the project lifecycle.
Tasks and Responsibilities
- Manage all aspects of QHSER activities in project execution and, when required, during the tender phase.
- Ensure that the project team is compliant with the clients Management System, and that client requirements are met.
- Support continuous improvement efforts, particularly in QHSER activities, within the organization.
- Develop and implement Project Quality, Health & Safety, Environmental, and Risk Management Plans in line with contractual obligations.
- Act as the QHSER focal point, ensuring alignment and communication between project teams, clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.
- Oversee the creation and review of relevant project documentation such as Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), Final Documentation, and Non-Conformance Reports.
- Conduct audits, facilitate lessons learned, and ensure proper change management processes are followed.
- Monitor compliance with environmental legislation and support sustainability efforts, such as waste management and the protection of biodiversity.
- Maintain project risk registers and facilitate risk workshops to ensure risk management strategies are effectively implemented.
Background and Qualifications
- 10-12 years of experience as a Quality, HSE, and/or Risk Manager in manufacturing, installation, or offshore environments, with a focus on turnkey/EPCI projects.
- Strong leadership skills, with the ability to manage and mentor team members in QHSER tasks.
- Experience with project management methods, and a solid understanding of project-driven organizations.
- Adequate training and certification in QHSER and Risk Management disciplines.
- University degree in engineering, QHSER, or a related field (MSc, MBA, BSc, or equivalent).
- Knowledge of industrial processes, particularly within cable manufacturing, marine, and land installations.
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
