Do you want to play a key role in developing Coop’s digital channels?
Are you passionate about technology and data and have a keen interest in how it can revolutionize the retail experience, making shopping smarter and more efficient for millions of Norwegians?
If the answer is yes, then this opportunity is perfect for you!
At Coop Norge, we are committed to creating future-oriented digital products and services that are used by millions of Norwegians. We think differently, and we solve problems in a playful yet professional manner. Additionally, we believe that autonomy and diversity in teams lead to the best results!
Our deliveries range from apps, payment solutions, and advanced software/hardware to support unmanned stores, to advanced analytics products such as personalization, forecasts, optimization, and segmentation models.
Now we are looking for experienced Backend Developers to join our team! In this role, you will become an integral member of the Digital Channel Team at Coop Norge, and you will develop and take ownership of services across all our digital channels, including the member app and web app.
Tasks and responsibilities:
- Develop services that are part of customer-facing products, ensuring high-quality user experiences.
- Maintain backend services and capabilities for digital channels (both for the member app and the web) and develop new features from scratch, contributing to the future growth of services.
- Break down monolithic architectures into microservices and re-build the backend architecture from scratch.
- Working with Golang, deploying services on an internal cloud platform built on GCP.
- Taking full ownership of the solutions - “you build it, you run it” mentality.
- Knowledge sharing and mentoring more junior colleagues.
About the Team
The Digital Channels team includes approximately 12 developers who are dedicated to two cross-functional product teams – one working on Coop’s member app, and one working on the coop.no web site and web application. Each product team includes expertise in development, project management, quality assurance, design, and more, and they follow agile methodologies using DevOps and Kanban boards.
What We're Looking For
We are looking for someone with at least 7 years of relevant experience.
Additionally, we believe experience with the following is necessary to succeed and thrive in this role:
- Experience developing backend services using modern programming languages such as Golang (Go).
- Experience with one or more cloud providers (preferably GCP), with a strong DevOps mindset.
- Experience with system design and architecture
- An educational background in IT or computer science is preferred, but relevant experience can make up for the lack of formal education.
Experience with the following would also be a plus:
- Docker
- Kubernetes
- Terraform
- Protocol Buffers
- gRPC
- Microservices
Why should you join Coop?
- You will get to work with the most exciting technologies and data to solve complex and important tasks.
- You will be part of an ambitious and diverse team where you can impact the way of working and contribute to organizational guidelines.
- We provide excellent opportunities for personal and professional development (e.g., conferences, training, time to work on own projects/upskilling, etc.).
- Coop has modern office spaces at our HQ at Grorud, and we offer a high degree of flexibility on working hours and location.
- When you begin your adventure with us, gear and equipment are provided.
- You will get a competitive compensation package in addition to good pension- and insurance schemes.
