International Key Account Manager - Norclamp
Summary
As an International Key Account Manager (IKAM), you will manage and nurture relationships with the company's key global clients. This role focuses on driving sales growth, ensuring customer satisfaction, and maximizing long-term partnerships across various international markets, primarily focusing on the Middle East. The IKAM will work closely with internal teams (sales, marketing, operations) to develop strategies aligning with client needs and the company's business goals.
Responsibilities and Tasks:
The position reports to the Director of Sales, IK – Subsea.
Customer Management
- Serve as the main point of contact for assigned key international clients.
- Maintain regular communication, addressing client needs, concerns, and requests.
- Build strong, long-term relationships with decision-makers.
Sales and Revenue Growth
- Develop and implement strategies tailored to achieve sales goals.
- Identify opportunities for upselling and expanding business within key accounts.
- Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms that meet both client and business objectives.
Customer Planning and Strategy
- Create and manage client development plans that outline goals, risks, and business opportunities.
- Collaborate with internal teams to deliver solutions that meet client-specific needs.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and industry developments to anticipate client requirements.
Reporting and Follow-up
- Track and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) for key accounts, including revenue growth, customer satisfaction, and profitability.
- Prepare regular reports on account status, sales forecasts, and updates.
- Ensure the client's needs align with the company's offerings.
Cross-functional Collaboration
- Coordinate with internal departments (e.g., product development, marketing, finance) to ensure timely delivery of products and services.
- Resolve issues or escalations promptly to maintain a positive customer experience.
International Travel
- Travel as needed for client meetings, international conferences, and on-site customer relations management in key markets.
Requirements and Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, technology (e.g., mechanical, structural, petroleum), or business/marketing with a strong focus on technical sales.
Experience
- 5-7 years of experience in technical sales, key account management, or business development within the oil and gas industry.
- Proven experience managing major international clients, particularly in technology markets (e.g., oil and gas, maritime, industrial automation).
Technological Knowledge
- Strong understanding of technical products and solutions, with the ability to explain complex details to customers.
- Ability to collaborate with technical teams to meet customer requirements and communicate feedback to engineering departments.
Skills
- Excellent technical and commercial communication skills—capable of combining technical knowledge with sales strategy.
- Experience in sales management, including bidding, technical specifications, and contract negotiations.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to align technical and commercial goals.
Language Skills
- Fluent in Norwegian and English, both written and spoken.
- Additional language skills relevant to international markets are an advantage.
Personal Qualities
- High degree of technical curiosity and quick learner of new products and solutions.
- Strong relationship-building skills with technical clients and engineers.
- Willingness to travel internationally and meet customers in technically demanding environments.
