Roamer is well known collectable brand that was one of the biggest producers of Swiss watches in the early 20th century

This is a lovely watch that was considered very large (oversized) when it was launched in the 1950s.

The watch has a very nice signed movement that is running well after I serviced it. There is a little pitting of the chrome platting on the underside of the watch but in general the condition of the case is very good for a 70 year old chrome plated watch. The dial has a few marks and a little patina. The crystal is nice and clear and free of scratches.

As a pastime I buy old watches and try to restore them to their former glory. To fund my hobby I have decided to sell some of the watches I believe are ready to be, and should be, worn again. The watches I work on are typically those where the paying the price of a full professional service would be hard to justify. Each watch is disassembled, cleaned, inspected, re-assembled, lubricated (with top end modern synthetic oils), demagnetised and then regulated to run as accurately as possible. If spare parts are needed, original parts are ordered or salvaged from watches with the same movements. New gaskets are installed and, if needed, the mainspring and crystal are replaced and a new strap fitted
