Our K-Sim simulators range from full-scale bridge simulators with realistic features, to cloud-based training to enable engaging exercises anytime and anywhere.

As our new Senior Software Engineer you will take on an important role working with a dedicated team to create realistic and accurate simulation experiences for our clients globally. This includes developing complex 3D-models and visuals, so experience with 3D development and Unreal Engine is crucial.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, optimize, and maintain high-quality 3D visuals and simulations using Unreal Engine.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including designers, engineers, and maritime experts, to create realistic and accurate simulation experiences.
• Implement and refine real-time rendering techniques, shaders, and visual effects.
• Integrate Unreal Engine with existing simulator components written in C#.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to 3D rendering and performance.
• Conduct code reviews, mentor junior developers, and contribute to best practices in software development.
• Stay current with the latest industry trends, tools, and technologies in 3D graphics and Unreal Engine development.
• Contribute to the planning and execution of development roadmaps and project milestones.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Game Development, or a related field.
• Extensive experience with Unreal Engine, including a deep understanding of its architecture, tools, and workflows.
• Strong proficiency in C++ and Blueprint scripting within Unreal Engine.
• Proven track record of developing and optimizing real-time 3D graphics and simulations.
• Solid experience with C# for integrating with and extending existing simulator components.
• Experience with performance profiling, optimization techniques, and debugging in a real-time environment.
• Solid understanding of 3D mathematics, physics, and rendering algorithms.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in maritime simulation or a related industry.
• Knowledge of Azure DevOps and Azure cloud services.
• Familiarity with networked multiplayer systems and synchronization in Unreal Engine.
• Familiarity with other 3D software tools and pipelines (e.g., Maya, Blender, Substance Painter).
• Experience with VR/AR development.
• Contributions to open-source projects or active participation in relevant communities.
