Seeking a Community Manager responsible for nurturing and growing the H5p.org community
As a Community Manager, you will be a pivotal figure in ensuring the success and sustainability of our H5P project by engaging, supporting, and empowering our user base, contributors, and stakeholders. We’re at the beginning of building the most significant ecosystem for interactive content in the world, so this is the perfect time for you to join our team! To support our continued growth, we are actively seeking talented individuals who are passionate about technology and eager to help expand our open-source community beyond it`s current strong foundation.
In this role your key responsibilities will be:
Community Engagement:
- Be the advocate and spokesperson for the H5P project, promoting its benefits and values within the community. Act as the primary point of contact for community members, addressing their inquiries, feedback, and concerns.
- Establish partnerships and collaborations with educational institutions and other relevant organizations. Organize and host community events, webinars, and conferences to facilitate interaction and knowledge sharing.
- Foster a vibrant and inclusive online and offline community environment.
- Participate in the H5P management team to represent the community's interests, ensuring their voices are heard and that key management decisions are effectively communicated back to the community.
Content Creation:
- Develop and curate engaging content, such as blog posts, tutorials, and documentation, to facilitate user onboarding and knowledge sharing.
- Maintain an up-to-date knowledge base to empower users to find solutions independently.
Community Growth:
- Develop and execute strategies to expand the user base, contributors, and relevant partners.
- Continuously improve the processes for joining the H5P community.
Feedback Management:
- Gather and analyze user feedback to inform product development and improvement.
- Use feedback to continuously improve the experience for H5P community members.
Metrics and Reporting:
- Monitor and report on community engagement metrics, growth, and user satisfaction.
- Use data-driven insights to refine community strategies and goals.
About You
These are some of the skills and experiences we think are important for this role:
- Strong familiarity with open source communities.
- Prior experience managing and moderating online communities or user forums and social media platforms.
- Conflict resolution and problem-solving skills to manage inquiries, feedback, and concerns effectively. Preferably experience in a user-facing role, providing technical support or user onboarding of software products.
- Proven record of fostering and growing online communities.
- Strong strategic communication skills.
- Prior experience organizing and hosting community events, webinars, or conferences.
- Proven results with developing and curating engaging content.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and/or Education or other relevant degree.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. As the majority of the communication is textual, you must be a fast typer. All internal and external communication is in English; you must be able to write and speak English fluently.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and adapt to a fast-paced environment.
- Strong analytical skills, plus if you have experience using data-driven insights to create community strategies and goals, and familiarity with engagement metrics to understand growth and user satisfaction.
- Attention to detail and the ability to handle stressful situations (i.e. managing several operational tasks/systems and communications simultaneously).
- A self- driven person that likes to take initiative and responsibility.
- Passion for education, technology and open source.
