Operations Manager - Project Cargo

We are seeking a highly motivated person to be:

• Part of Saga Welco Project Cargo team and co-ordinate project cargo operations together with the project cargo group as required
• Act as Port Captain for project cargoes and other trades when required
• Planning of intake, stowage, securing with regards to project cargoes and other trades as required
• Liaise with Saga Welco regional offices for optimizing operations
• Work with equipment department for material handling in relation to project cargo shipments
• Assist and support other sections as required in operational matters

Qualities and Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years relevant experience with break bulk and / or project cargo operation; offshore construction / heavy lift or similar
• Relevant education (maritime, nautical, or engineering)
• Seagoing experience advantage
• Technical knowledge and able to prepare and review stowage plans, procedures & method statements
• Knowledge of or ability to learn CAD software programs (training will be given)
• Self-motivated and flexible
• Organized and structured
• Negotiation skills
• Fluency in English (and one of the Scandinavian languages?)
