Eiffage Norge is looking for a dedicated Site Engineer
Due to increased activities EIFFAGE Norge is looking for a dedicated Site Engineer for the E18 project. We are looking for a candidate that are engaged, proactive and has a "can do" attitude.
You will be responsible of coordinating the work of site superintendents and ensure effective and efficient production within set timescales.
Reporting to the Construction manager:
- Ensure effective and efficient production within set timescales.
- Manage/coordinate work of subordinates and sub-contractors within are of responsibility.
- Updates the works program for area of responsibility, reports promptly to the construction manager any problems, which may lead to time delays against the works program.
- Cost control of each sub-contract (budget ownership).
- Get approval from the construction manager for additional works, providing a description of the variation and cost.
- Coordinate/attend meetings with the sub-contractors.
- Liaise as required with the safety officer and health and safety manager, reports matters of substance to the construction manager.
- Ensure the company’s health and safety working practices are followed at all times on site (tools box talk, tasks launch meeting, etc.).
- Comply with company policies and procedures.
- Assist in checking the progress schedules and if necessary modifies them along the lines suggested by the construction manager.
- Assist the technical/method team in the preparation of method statement, inspection and test plan and work specific environmental significant aspects.
- Control and monitor the quality of manufacturing as per specifications and approved model or sample.
- Stop workers from performing any unsafe or pollution act.
- Ensure lifting equipment is operated by a competent person.
- Follow-up pre-job briefing for each specific work task and ensure understanding by the subcontractors and workers.
- Open non-conformance report and propose solution.
- Check all temporary equipment on arrival at site (lifts, cranes, etc.).
- Prepare and issue notification for inspection and sign-off work inspection record once checking and verification is completed (for temporary installation).
- Work jointly with procurement manager (provide needs and technical information).
- Ensure that work, once started, is carried out as planned and according to the approved method statement.
- Ensure that dangerous substance are properly stored and controlled on site.
- Identify and inform the construction manager in case of change during the work execution.
- Ensure the signature of the management of change control record is completed by the construction manager before proceeding.
- Ensure that pretask meeting is performed prior to commencement of the site work. Provide instruction to establish working method, to explain the sequence of operation (inspection and testing plan including significant control point).
- Ensure all subcontractor are aware of the management of change process.
- Ensure the management of change task launch meeting minutes are attached to the management of change control record and copies QHSE department.
- Create method statements and work control procedure in accordance to construction activities.
What we are looking for
- Engineering discipline degree
- At least 5 years’ experience of structural civil engineering projects
- Speciality in bridges and viaducts
- Excellent Microsoft Office skills,
- Proficiency with AutoCAD or similar
- Good written verbal and communication skills in English

Eiffage Norge is the main contractor for the E18 Langangen-Rugtvedt highway. The project is a 4-lane 18km long highway including 3 bridges and 2 mains twin’s tunnels (Bjonnas Tunnel 2.5km and Grenland Tunnel 5.1km). It started in January 2021 and will run until end 2025.
You will join a dynamic team in Norway with a potential of long-term assignment in Scandinavia.
