Design System Lead

Kongsberg Digital has experienced real commercial traction across the leading digital positions within maritime, energy, and renewables and is ambitious to grow from 1 BNOK to 3 BNOK in SaaS revenue over the next three years.

Kongsberg Digital is now embarking on its next evolution of product offering, which will require the merging of our key product offerings.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and adoption of a company-wide design system

• Define, document, and maintain the design system, including its vision, design principles, components, patterns, and guidelines

• Research the different users needs and apply these to the design system and its documentation

• Develop, along with stakeholders, the processes used to develop, maintain and test the design system

• Mentor and inspire a team of designers and developers to contribute to the design system

• Work closely with product managers, developers, and other stakeholders to ensure the design system aligns with business goals and technical constraints

• Promote the use of the design system across the Kongsberg Digital, providing training and support to designers and developers

• Keep up-to-date with the latest design trends and best practices, and incorporate them into the design system

Qualifications

• Minimum of 7 years in UX design with at least 2 years in a leadership role, preferably in the heavy asset industry

• Experience building and implementing a design system in SaaS products

• High level of proficiency in Figma

• Strong leadership and team skills

• A keen eye for detail and a commitment to quality

• Excellent communication and presentation abilities

• Deep understanding of core usability principles, and experience with user research methods

• High level of competency in English

• Familiarity with front-end development technologies is a plus

• Familiarity with other design tools such as Sketch or Adobe XD is a plus
