This is more than navigation – this is a connected, smart and data-driven ecosystem that can unlock unique benefits for the shipping business.The Director of Systems Operations is responsible for managing, and overseeing the day-to-day operations of the cloud-based infrastructure, distributed edge environments and internal IT solutions. The team is global and spans different cultures from 19 nationalities.
A key aspect of the role is driving innovation and continuous improvement in systems management, security, automation, and distributed computing to meet business goals.
Duties and responsibilities
- Ensure system availability, performance, and scalability, meeting SLAs and uptime objectives.
- Manage the conï¬ guration, security, and disaster recovery plans of all systems.
- Collaborate with the development, product, and security teams to ensure the integration and deployment of new technologies and upgrades.
- Prepare and manage the budget for the systems operations department, ensuring cost-effective technology investments.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations and security protocols
Qualiï¬ cations
The ideal candidate holds a higher degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related ï¬ eld, and a minimum of 10 years of experience in IT operations, including 5 years in a leadership role. In addition you will need:- Strong knowledge of systems operations, IT infrastructure, network management and cloud technologies.
- Proven experience with IT service management (ITSM), change management and incident resolution processes.
- Expertise in virtualization, containerization, cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and database management.
- Familiarity with cybersecurity protocols and compliance standards.
- Fluent in english, orally and in writing.
