Operations Manager - 44.01
About the role:
44.01 is expanding its carbon removal business to other territories and is looking for its first hire in Norway to assist with operations and business development. The Operations Manager will have a strong focus on setting up our operations in Norway, business development, and stakeholder relationship management. The ideal candidate will have a sharp business mind, proven record of operational management, and ideally a technical background in mechanical, chemical, petroleum engineering and/or geoengineering.
What you’ll do:
- Assist setting up 44.01’s office in Norway and lead its operation
- Research and identify new business opportunities, including new projects, customers and partnerships
- Lead on and support business development including bid-writing for new grants and contracts
- Foster and develop relationships with stakeholders, customers, clients and partners (e.g. Investors, government institutions, universities, service providers etc)
- Understand the needs of stakeholders, customers, clients and partners, and be able to respond effectively
- Have a good understanding of 44.01’s carbon removal business and its technology
- Participate in the day-to-day operation and execution of the company’s strategy
Who you are:

- A self starter who will display comfort and resourcefulness in ambiguity
- Willing to travel within Norway and internationally
- Skilled at problem solving, critical thinking, multi- tasking, building and managing relationships
- Excellent spoken and written English
- Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to build and manage relationships with key stakeholders, and experience managing and leading high-performing teams.
- You will be flexible, pragmatic and willing to assist with duties outside of your domain when required for the business. You have a growth-oriented mindset and want to develop solutions that scale.
