About the Role
We are seeking a seasoned and strategic Retail Marketing Manager to join our team and elevate Sweet Protection's presence across ski, snowboard, and bike retail partners in Europe, the US, and Canada.
In this critical role, you will elevate our brand and product presentation to best-in-class standards across all retail channels—both online and offline—driving brand awareness, consistency, and sell-through via strong collaboration with our sales team and key retail partners.
As the Retail Marketing Manager, you will balance high-level strategic thinking with a hands-on, execution-focused approach. You will drive the development and execution of global retail marketing initiatives, ensuring maximum brand impact. Your responsibilities will include creating high-quality retail marketing assets that ensure brand consistency, visibility, and engagement across consumer touchpoints. This includes developing multi-channel retail strategies and tools such as point-of-purchase (PoP) displays, retail education programs, seeding initiatives, and both in-store and digital activations.
You will be expected to think critically about retail strategies while also rolling up your sleeves to implement seasonal activations, design targeted programs, and stimulate sell-through. Your role will also involve collaborating seamlessly with sales, creative, and marketing teams, and managing budgets to execute strategies effectively and efficiently.

You will play a key role in advancing Sweet Protection's aggressive growth strategy, ensuring the brand's successful positioning and growth across global retail channels.
The role reports to the Marketing Manager for Sweet Protection, and is located at Active Brands’ offices in Oslo, Nydalen.
Main Tasks and Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a comprehensive retail and trade marketing strategy to elevate brand presentation across both online and offline channels.
- Develop service level agreements and manage retail marketing investments, ensuring alignment with global budgets and different customer tiers.
- Lead the creation and execution of seasonal activation playbooks and toolboxes, while managing the effective and efficient roll-out, and clear KPIs aimed at optimizing sell-through.
- Create and execute tailored marketing plans for top accounts in key markets in collaboration with sales.
- Lead the creation and execution of Point of Purchase & Sale, and Shop-in-Shop programs, ensuring brand consistency and scalability across multi-channel retail environments. Additionally, develop detailed merchandising guides, SLAs, and investment strategies to drive effective brand storytelling and engagement with key accounts, distributors, and agencies.
- Create and implement training programs to educate retail partners and sales staff on Sweet Protection's brand story, USPs, and competitive advantages, while developing targeted initiatives to equip them with the knowledge and tools needed to drive customer interest and boost sales.
- Lead the planning and execution of global and regional tradeshows managing logistics such as layout, build-up, and hospitality.
- Own "trading meetings" to align marketing, sales, and inventory initiatives for top-tier accounts, and present monthly retail activities and performance to internal stakeholders to inform strategic decision.
- Oversee retail project planning using tools like Asana and Figma, while collaborating with external partners to produce high-quality campaign assets that align with Sweet Protection’s standards.
Key Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Business, or a related field (MBA is a plus).
- 5+ years of experience in trade marketing, retail marketing, or a related role within the sporting goods or consumer goods industry.
- Deep understanding of multi-channel marketing strategies, including digital and in-store activation.
- Proven track record of managing trade marketing investments and optimizing ROI.
- Strong project management skills, with experience leading cross-functional teams and utilizing tools like Asana for planning and execution.
Strong analytical skills to assess market trends and customer insights, informing strategic decision-making.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Cross-functional team experience with the ability to work effectively in fast-paced environments.
- Results-oriented with a focus on driving success through data-driven insights and digital analytics.
