Jefferson Wells is looking for a skilled and experienced Automation Engineer for our client in the oil and gas sector. This role involves working on a large FEED project, which includes new platform design, brownfield modifications, and handling complex contractual interfaces. A strong background in Safety and Automation Systems (SAS) design is essential.
Tasks and Responsibilities
- Design, interface, and follow up on Safety and Automation Systems as directed by the automation team lead.
- Develop specifications for global SAS systems, addressing modifications, new designs, and interface requirements.
- Review technical SAS documentation.
- Prepare and complete engineering documents and data registers.
- Collaborate on hardware and software designs.
- Interface with other disciplines, contractors, suppliers, and clients.
- Conduct offshore surveys, if required.
Background and Qualifications
Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant engineering discipline and have at least 10 years of experience in automation engineering within greenfield projects. A minimum of 6 years of hands-on experience in SAS system design, including SAS/automation network solutions, is required. You should have extensive knowledge of automation design and networks in compliance with standards such as NORSOK, ATEX, PTIL, and IEC.
The role demands excellent communication skills in English, both oral and written, and a cooperative mindset with the ability to work effectively in multicultural team environments. You should demonstrate the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively, with a systematic approach to tasks, and show strong commitment to meeting deadlines and quality standards. Being proactive, seeking guidance when necessary, and sharing your expertise with others are important traits for this position.
Candidates must also have valid certifications for the FSE and Ex courses throughout the engagement.

Length of Assignment: 12 months with the possibility of extension.
The ideal candidate is available for an immediate start in Oslo. We do not offer a relocation package.
