Environmental Engineer

What does the job involve?

Collaborate closely with other environmental engineers, plant management, and operative/technical personnel to build an environmental management system that promotes continuous improvement.

What will my tasks be?

Within this position, your key tasks will be to:

• Supporting, advising, and challenging the Hammerfest LNG organization within environmental management.
• Staying up-to-date on environmental regulations, requirements, and applicable standards relevant to Hammerfest LNG, and provide guidance to the organization based on this knowledge.
• Supporting plant management in environmental permit follow-up.
• Preparing authority applications and other documentation, including reporting to the authorities.
• Staying up to date on operational conditions and contributing to better environmental efficiency and reaching ambitious targets.
• Supporting and advising plant management in climate and environmental risk evaluations, and following up on risk as part of integrated risk management.
• Participating in environmental improvement projects.
• Engage with internal key stakeholders to share knowledge and learn best practices.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or higher in science (chemistry/biology or technology) is preferred, but relevant experience can compensate.
• Experience from Norwegian authority regulations.
• Operative experience from onshore plants and/or competence in environmental management, will be considered an advantage.
• A strong interest in and dedication to sustainability and Equinor’s strategy.
• Fluent communication skills in English and Scandinavian, written and spoken.

• You must live or be willing to relocate to Hammerfest.
