Product Developer for Sports apparell
About the Role
We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Product Developer to join our Product Creation team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing sportswear for men, women, and children, working with vendors to ensure that products meet our high standards of performance, quality, and cost.
Building on your solid foundation in garment fitting and size development, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams - including design, production, and sustainability - to create functional, innovative products that align with our brand values and customer needs.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong foundation in product development to apply their expertise, take ownership of key tasks, and contribute meaningfully to the success of our renowned brands. You will gain further experience in a dynamic and collaborative environment while helping to uphold our commitment to quality, performance, and cost-effectiveness.
Tasks & Responsibilities:
- Develop products in line with brand design directions and target costs in collaboration with designer.
- Deliver products that meet brand quality standards, fit, and function.
- Manage the product development process from prototype to pre-production samples, including tech pack creation, fit sessions, prototype reviews, review costs critically, and daily vendor communication.
- Ensure tech packs are accurate and up to date, leading to the production of high-quality finished products.
- Conduct vendor visits as needed.
- Actively participate in relevant meetings.
Key Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or relevant education in garment construction, textiles, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in product development.
- Extensive expertise and hands-on experience in garment fitting, pattern cutting, and size development.
- Previous experience working directly with vendors, and experience with vendors in Vietnam and Bangladesh is an asset.
- Familiarity with sportswear construction, manufacturing, and industry standards.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, PLM, and Microsoft 365.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
