North Development Program 2025 - Electrical Power Engineer

What does the job involve?

Responsible for developing and implementing technical-,engineering- and operational solutions, optimizing and monitoring the quality, safety, and efficiency, of electrical systems used in energy production ,processing, refining, and transport systems, including renewables, CO2- and low carbon (including but not limited to electrical safety, subsea electrical technology, power cables, renewable power generation, power transmission and grid interface.) Governance shall be based on technical and professional standards and relevant industry best practices, supported by state-of-the-art systems, processes, methods and tools to support decision making processes.

You are utilizing your knowledge in a specific area to carry out tasks that have a short-term operational impact/risk. You independently complete assigned work, either with limited guidance or by following well-defined guidelines and procedures, in order to achieve targets set by others that have an impact on your immediate team as well as other work areas. You effectively communicate facts, practices, and policies to individuals within your immediate team as well as external parties, with others support. You may navigate potentially conflicting agendas. You adhere to established procedures and tackle occasionally complex challenges by identifying and resolving them. You proactively seek continuous improvement and embrace change and ambiguity. You demonstrate flexibility to adopt new activities and ways of working while also taking ownership of your work. You follow and comply with safety, ethics, and compliance requirements and align with leadership expectations and company values.

This position is part of the North Development program. You will receive a development and learning opportunity and be given stretch tasks and responsibility at an early stage. Your first three years in this role may see you on an exchange between our northern Norway locations.

What will my tasks be?

Within this position, your key tasks will be to:

• Support technical integrity through electrical technical assistance and various operation and maintenance services. 
• Assist in the design, implementation, and quality assurance of minor improvement proposals in safety and electrical systems, ensuring safety and efficiency. 
• Contribute to safe and efficient design and execution of modifications. 
• Contribute to safety in design and operations for new assets. 
• Provide technical support in the event of extended production disruption. 
• Proactively support assets in production optimization. 
• Work on a broad set of deliveries and join a professional network.

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in electrical engineering or another relevant electrical subject. Completed degree by August 2025. 
• No more than three years of relevant full-time work experience. Formal experience is not a requirement.  
• An understanding of the context of electrical systems in a large and complex highly regulated industrial facility. 
• Ability to familiarize yourself with digital tools used in the job. 
• Team player with the ability to work in a multidisciplinary environment. 
• Motivated to solve tasks in a dedicated and responsible manner. 
• As an electrical engineer, you are required to have proficiency in Norwegian (both verbally and in writing) and proficient English communication. 
• Willingness to live in Harstad.
