Jefferson Wells is seeking an experienced Automation Engineer for our customer, who will contribute to a major oil & gas FEED project. The project involves new platform design, brownfield modifications, and interfacing with various contractual stakeholders. This role provides an excellent opportunity to apply and enhance your expertise in engineering automation systems, particularly SAS safety system design.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
- System design, interface, and follow-up for ESD, PSD, and F&G systems as directed by the automation team lead.
- Specify global SIS system design through modification work, new system design, and contractual interfaces.
- Develop SAS safety system design in alignment with project requirements, including FS, hierarchy design, C&E, FPDS, I/O, and HMI sketches.
- Participate in multidiscipline reviews to ensure design quality.
- Design solutions that integrate seamlessly with existing plant systems.
- Ensure timely communication and availability of vendor and engineering information needed for project progress.
- Interface with other disciplines, contractors, suppliers, and clients to maintain alignment and progress.
- Offshore surveys may be required as part of the role.
Background and Qualifications:
To succeed in this role, you should have a bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant field and bring a minimum of 10 years of experience in automation engineering, particularly in greenfield projects. You should also have at least 6 years of hands-on experience with SIS system design, including brownfield modifications. A solid understanding of automation design and networks according to standards such as NORSOK, ATEX, PTIL, and IEC is essential.
We are looking for someone who is a strong communicator with excellent English skills, both written and verbal. You should have a cooperative and adaptable attitude, capable of working independently and as part of a multicultural team. Being systematic, accurate, and highly committed to meeting deadlines and quality standards is vital, as is a proactive approach to seeking advice and sharing your knowledge. Valid FSE and Ex certificates are required for this role throughout the engagement period.
