Lead Strategic Procurement in Complex Projects
Jefferson Wells is seeking an experienced Project Purchasing Manager on behalf of our customer to join an exciting project within the Generation & Transmission Business Group. This role requires a skilled professional with extensive experience in procurement and project purchasing. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in shaping purchasing strategies, ensuring compliance, and leading negotiations to support efficient and high-quality project execution.
Tasks and Responsibilities
- Lead and execute all purchasing-related activities for assigned projects in alignment with the clients Project Model and Purchasing Operating Model.
- Establish, monitor, and follow up on procurement plans, ensuring efficient execution of contracts, deliveries, and supplier relationships.
- Develop procurement strategies and negotiate subcontractor agreements to support project objectives.
- Mentor and support team members, including Senior Purchasers and Purchasers, fostering knowledge-sharing and development.
- Ensure compliance with Group Code of Ethics, competition laws, and internal procurement procedures.
- Participate in cross-functional meetings and risk reviews to ensure alignment of procurement activities with project goals.
- Source and qualify new suppliers, conduct supplier audits, and maintain updated records in SAP and PLM systems.
- Monitor savings, cost avoidance, and invoicing to ensure alignment with procurement procedures.
Background and Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Engineering, Business, or Supply Chain Management.
- At least 7 years of experience in Procurement, Category Management, or Supply Chain, preferably within project purchasing.
- Demonstrated success in international negotiations, with experience in industries such as oil, gas, offshore, onshore, maritime, or construction.
- Proficient in SAP; knowledge of BI and Ariba is advantageous.
- Fluent in English; proficiency in Norwegian or French is a plus.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills and a commitment to upholding ethical standards.
