North Development Program 2025 - Subsea Engineer
What does the job involve?
Being responsible for operations, maintenance and engineering work related to the planning, design, installation, and structural reliability of mechanical systems used subsea, such as subsea pipelines, pumps, transportation equipment etc.
You are utilizing your knowledge in a specific area to carry out tasks that have a short-term operational impact/risk. You independently complete assigned work, either with limited guidance or by following well-defined guidelines and procedures, in order to achieve targets set by others that have an impact on your immediate team as well as other work areas. You effectively communicate facts, practices, and policies to individuals within your immediate team as well as external parties, with others support. You may navigate potentially conflicting agendas. You adhere to established procedures and tackle occasionally complex challenges by identifying and resolving them. You proactively seek continuous improvement and embrace change and ambiguity. You demonstrate flexibility to adopt.
This position is part of the North Development program. You will receive a development and learning opportunity and be given stretch tasks and responsibility at an early stage. Your first three years in this role may see you on an exchange between our northern Norway locations.
What will my tasks be?
Within this position, your key tasks will be to:
- Gain hands-on experience in subsea operations, tackling operational challenges and troubleshooting, while learning directly from one of the world’s largest operators of subsea wells.
- Follow-up technical integrity of subsea systems.
- Perform technical and operational support.
- Perform maintenance - and modification activities, commissioning of new wells and coordination of subsea operation.
- Contribute to discipline delivery teams.
- Follow-up technical plans and lifetime evaluations.
- Contribute to internal and external audits and verifications.
- Contribute to facilitating for safe and efficient operation of new subsea projects.
- Contribute to follow-up deliveries and services from subsea suppliers.

- Bachelor's or Master's degree, preferable within subsea technology, automation, cybernetics, or mechanical engineering. Completed degree by August 2025.
- No more than three years of relevant full-time work experience. Formal experience is not a requirement.
- Knowledge or experience with subsea facilities in operation phase or project phase would be an advantage.
- Good written and oral communication skills, both in Norwegian and English.
- Ability to communicate requirements and show direction towards internal and external stakeholders.
- Willingness to live in Harstad.
